BIO:
Kerry Shubert has been involved in the Oklahoma soccer community for over 30 years. He began playing through the Broken Arrow Soccer Club and continued his career competitively for the Tulsa Futball Club (TFC). At the collegiate level, Kerry played for Oklahoma Christian University where he captained his team his final 2 years. After college, he played semi-professional for the Oklahoma City Warriors from 1990 to 1992.
Kerry began coaching competitively in 1992 and has since made it to 24 State Finals, where his teams claimed 17 State Championships. He was named Girls Youth Coach of the Year in OK 2007. He also won a Regional Championship in 1996 with Capital City Elite '78 and made Oklahoma soccer history by being the first girl’s team to advance to USYS Nationals. His Elite 79 team and Royals 82 girls teams also both advanced to Region III semi-finals, in 1997 and 1999 respectively.
His recently graduated HFC 92 Shubert team enjoyed a great deal of sucess. They were Oklahoma State Champions in 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009. They also won on the regional level having been Region III quarter-finalist in 2006, 2008, and 2009 as well as being Region Finalist in 2007. The HFC 92 Shubert were also the first Oklahoma team to compete in the USYS National League in 2008-09.
He presently coaches two HFC teams, HFC 93 Shubert and HFC 95 Shubert. The HFC 93 Shubert team is a 6 time State Champion, having won titles in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009, and 2010. They also have found sucess on the regional level, having been Region III quarter-finalist in 2007, 2009, and 2010.
In addition to club soccer, Kerry coached at the high school level for Edmond Santa Fe where in 1996 he won the 5A High School Boys State Championship. In the same year, he was named the Oklahoma High School Boys Coach of the Year. Kerry also has collegiate coaching experience as the former University of Tulsa Women’s Assistant Coach from 2000-2003. Over the years, he has also been involved with the Olympic Development Program at a State and Regional level. Kerry has also coached over 50 kids who have earn college scholarships, including 32 at the NCAA Division I level. Of these players, 10 have played at Oklahoma State University and 6 have played at the University of Oklahoma.
Kerry holds several educational coaching licenses including a USYSA National License and a NSCAA National Diploma where he passed with distinction.
Kerry received a Bachelor of Science in Education from Oklahoma Christian University in 1992. He currently uses his talents as a coach and personal trainer and runs SoccerCity, an indoor soccer facility in Tulsa.
